Terms of Service
Summary
By using Ohio Parcel Downloader (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. The short version: it's a tool for accessing Ohio parcel data, not a substitute for a survey, you get 3 free downloads before subscribing, and we provide it as-is with no warranty.
What the Service is
Ohio Parcel Downloader provides an interactive map for downloading parcel (property boundary) data sourced from publicly available state datasets, exported to CAD/GIS formats (DXF, DWG, KML, LandXML).
The data is sourced from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources GIS feeds and represents the best available public information at the time of your request. It is not a substitute for a professional survey. Boundaries, dimensions, and ownership information may be incorrect, outdated, or imprecise. Do not use Service output for legal boundary determinations, construction without a separate field survey, title disputes, or any decision where precise legal boundaries matter.
Free tier and subscription
- The free tier permits 3 downloads per browser. Free use is tracked via a cookie; clearing cookies resets the counter.
- A subscription costs $7.99 per year and includes unlimited downloads at the same per-request limits (up to 10 square miles or 10,000 parcels per request, whichever comes first).
- Subscriptions are billed annually via Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from the Manage subscription link in the header, which opens Stripe's customer portal. After cancellation, you retain access through the end of your current billing period.
- We do not offer prorated refunds. If you cancel mid-cycle, your access continues until the period ends.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to scrape, mirror, or redistribute Ohio parcel data at scale beyond your own project needs.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass the free-tier limit.
- Use the Service for illegal purposes, harassment, or any activity that violates the rights of others.
- Misrepresent Service output as a professional survey or legally authoritative source.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Intellectual property
- The underlying parcel data is sourced from public Ohio government feeds. The Service does not claim copyright over that data; it's reformatted for convenience.
- The Service code, design, and exported file structure (formatting, layer naming, etc.) are provided for your use under the terms of your subscription. You may use exported files freely in your own work.
- The Ohio Parcel Downloader name, branding, and site design are not licensed for redistribution.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Parcel data is accurate, complete, or current.
- Exported files will be free of defects.
- The Service will be available at any specific time.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost profits, data loss, project rework, or boundary disputes. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (i.e., at most one annual subscription).
Changes to the Service or terms
We may modify the Service, change these terms, or adjust subscription pricing at any time. Material changes (price increases, removal of features) will be communicated by email to active subscribers at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
Termination
You may terminate your subscription at any time via the customer portal. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or for any reason with reasonable notice (or immediately for serious violations).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.
